Friday, 24 August 2001 -- The Hunt Goes On

So, as of yesterday, I've checked for networking jobs and/or applied at half a dozen Internet service providers and at least a dozen colleges and universities. Not so much as a nibble yet. I've checked out more schools because I'm not really sure that I want to go work for an ISP again. Anyway, there don't seem to be a whole lot of ISP jobs out there right now anyway.

In the meantime, I've been trying to build up some other skills to beef up my resume and I'm also pursuing some creative endeavors. I plan on finally having some fiction up here in the next week or two. Thank you all for being so patient.

Thursday, 16 August 2001 -- Back At Home

I suppose that I was in more of a hurry to get back home than I thought. I got back early on Tuesday. Missed the Lincoln house and I decided not to swing by Canton, as it was too late at night when I went through Ohio anyway.

Sunday, 12 August 2001 -- A Leisurely Pace

Well, I had a wonderful weekend in Independence and I'm now on my way back. I plan on taking my time, so I'll probably stop at another Super 8 in Illinois somewhere tonight. I plan on hitting the Lincoln Log Cabin memorial tomorrow. I'm debating whether or not to make a side trip to Canton, Ohio and see The Pro Football Hall of Fame. I'll let you all know what I end up doing, of course...

Thursday, 9 August 2001 -- Time To Kill

Greetings from Columbia, Missouri!

I made pretty good time getting out here. Took a few naps here and there in my car and got here this afternoon. I'm only two hours from my final destination of Independence, Missouri and I don't have to be there until tomorrow afternoon, so I've got some time to kill... Good thing I always bring a good book or two with me. I would have gone all the way to Independence but after nearly 24 hours in my car, I needed a shower pretty badly.

I'm staying tonight at the local Super 8 motel. I discovered something quite interesting when I checked in. If you have a Sam's Club card, they give you 20% off your room. That's twice what their own V.I.P. Club discount program saves you. Pretty spiffy.

Tuesday, 7 August 2001 -- So Much Stuff

So, with me sending out resumes, preparing a trip to Missouri and close friends with personal crises, I'm swamped. (And no, you smart-asses, "crises" is not a fucking typo. Look it up.)

Anyway, I am going to Missouri tomorrow. I'm driving. Yeah, I'll be gone like a week. I'm bringing a Kinko's directory with me, so I hope to have at least one update on my travels in the coming week.

At any rate, I'm looking forwrd to the trip. Some solitude. Some music. Maybe a book on tape. I like driving long distances anyway.
